I always liked the Jam into WRS from this show. Sounds like they are trying to transition into WRS.

All the other WRS I know start from a cold stop.

Anyone have another examlpe of a JAM>WRS anywhere? I would like to hear one.

Not talking Let it Grow. There are jams into and out of LIG everywhere.

Here is a list of the early Preludes that are usually parts of jams:

http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=263203

After the whole Suite debuted, they jammed into the Prelude a few times in '73:

9-17-73 Truckin>Eyes>WRS
9-24-73 Truckin>Eyes>WRS
9-26-73 Truckin>Eyes>WRS
10-23-73 Truckin>Other One>WRS
10-30-73 Dark Star>Stella Blue>Eyes>WRS
11-25-73 Eyes>WRS

Couldn't think of any examples in '74, although by then they were jamming OUT of Let It Grow more often...

Check out the jam out of Truckin' into the WRS Prelude jam into Wharf Rat. The WRS Prelude is wordless, and the jam is sublime.

really nice recording though, and a fun loose little jam. thanks for the heads up.

Cool sound-check.

Also interesting notes from Charlie regarding the set-list and set-break.

OOH! 2:00 in Casey Jones. Epic banter.

This fine show even has a review from Miss Divine

You may have Competition from Bobby:
Reviewer: Miss Divine - [5.0 out of 5 stars] - July 15, 2008
Subject: Nice, nice, nice...
Lovely sounding board here.
Bobby seems pumped up during Mexicali Blues....

WTF? From "scowling I've got a dead rodent on my face Weir"? Well, then...there you have it...the gaunlet has been thrown down. Manno e Manno, a Forumite takes on the champion of the SBDs for $...(sorry, cheap shot...my first of many, trust me). Think of it as one of those Celebrity Death Matches aka claymation...Make sure my image is molded to resemble Stone Cold Steve Austen (sp? all I know is that I rec'd an action figure of him in which the students crafted him to look like me and the resemblance was uncanny, although the baldness factor was clearly important, as was the "smack down" factor).

I hope someone else can shed some light, but I'd bet the Wang Dang is filler - not from this show, but cool to hear indeed.

edit: oops, too quick once again - I missed your 'wink' ! Ha!

Thanks for that, I did zero checking and assumed it was filler.

Nice sound check
